The 2007 Nordic Junior Swimming Championships will take place in Tórshavn, the capital of the Faroe Islands, from December 1st to December 2nd 2007.

The venue is “Svimjihøllin í Gundadali”, the main public pool of Tórshavn, which includes a 6 lane 25 meter competition pool with electronic timekeeping, a 13 x 11,5 meter diving well, a shallow 11 x 10 meter pool, a really shallow 6 x 5,5 meter pool, spa and saunas. Participating countries are Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Estonia and the Faroe Islands. ‘Juniors’ are girls who turn 14 or 15 this calendar year, and boys who turn 16 or 17. This means that in 2007, legitimate competitors will be girls born in 1992 or 1993, and boys born in 1990 or 1991.

The Faroese Swimming Federation is responsible for hosting and organizing the 2007 championships. Appointed members of the organizing committee are:

  • Ninna R. Ørvarodd of the Faroese Sports Federation (official contact person)
  • Evald Rasmussen, certified referee (in charge of meet and accommodation)
  • Rókur í Jákupsstovu, certified swim coach (website, invitations etc.)

They work in close contact with the Executive Committee of the Faroese Swimming Federation:
